A pre-race sample was taken from Gunmandu.
Double Eclipse and Bomber's Queen were quick to begin.
Shanlyn Spot and Boes Rose collided soon after the start. Double Eclipse and Bomber's Queen collided approaching the first turn checking Double Eclipse. Gunmandu and Bomber's Queen collided on the first turn checking Bomber's Queen, Shanlyn Spot and Double Eclipse. Shanlyn Spot and Boes Rose raced wide on the home turn. Star Gem and Bomber's Queen collided several times in the home straight checking both greyhounds.
Star Gem underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left deltoid muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
