Steward's Report
Trending Rookie and Underworld collided soon after the start checking Underworld. Fernando's Quest, Midday Snooze and Trending Rookie collided in the back straight checking Trending Rookie. Trending Rookie, Exford Norm and Black Imani collided on the first turn checking Exford Norm. Kanji Giant and Midday Snooze collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Underworld and Black Imani collided approaching the home turn. Trending Rookie, Midday Snooze and Kanji Giant collided on the home turn checking Midday Snooze and Kanji Giant. Underworld marred Trending Rookie approaching the winning post.
Underworld underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg quadriceps muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative Ms D. Coleman regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Underworld was charged with marring. Ms Coleman pleaded not guilty to the charge, Underworld was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Post-race samples were taken from Fernando's Quest (1st), Trending Rookie (2nd) and Underworld (2nd).
