Steward's Report
Queen Redeem was quick to begin. Cell Block Tango was slow to begin.
Sky And Thunder checked off Aston Vogue soon after the start. Tom The Cheap and Aston Vogue collided approaching the first turn. Aston Vogue checked off Venus Light on the first turn. Lunar Star checked off Tom The Cheap entering the back straight. Tom The Cheap marred Venus Light in the back straight. Lunar Star and Venus Light collided approaching the home turn. Cell Block Tango checked off Queen Redeem on the home turn. Aston Vogue marred Tom The Cheap approaching the winning post.
Tom The Cheap underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to representative Mr D. Gibbons regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Tom The Cheap was charged with marring. Mr Gibbons pleaded guilty to the charge, Tom The Cheap was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Aston Vogue underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr B. Pursell regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Aston Vogue was charged with marring. Mr Pursell pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Vogue was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Post-race samples were taken from Cell Block Tango (1st) and Venus Light (2nd).
