Steward's Report
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.
Bob Yogi and Weeona Evie were quick to begin. Oseye Bale and Alan’s Pick were slow to begin. Elswyk Jordy and Elswyk Sky collided approaching the first turn. Alan’s Pick lost ground on the first turn. Oseye Bale and Mechanics Kismet collided on the first turn. Elswyk Jordy and Tsunami Oubre collided on the home turn severely checking Elswyk Sky. Elswyk Sky, Mechanics Kismet and Oseye Bale collided entering the home straight. Elswyk Sky and Oseye Bale collided in the home straight checking both greyhounds. Weeona Evie and Elswyk Jordy collided approaching the winning post.
Alans Pick underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left chest muscle and right triangle muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. S. Healey, the representative for Alan‘s Pick regarding the greyhound’s performance on the first turn. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Alan’s Pick must perform a satisfactory trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post race sample was taken from Bob Yogi - winner of the event.
There was no head on vision of the back straight for this event.
