Steward's Report
Perfect Crippa, Sonic Sensation and Royal Gossip collided soon after the start. Perfect Crippa and Also Arandt collided soon after start. Royal Gossip crossed out at the 300m mark. Walk Me Home, Doughnut and Zarate collided at the 250m mark checking Doughnut. Walk Me Home checked off Perfect Crippa at the 200m mark. Sonic Sensation and Also Arandt collided approaching the 150m mark. Also Arandt crossed in at the 100m mark. Royal Gossip turned its head inwards and visibly eased at the 50m mark.
Royal Gossip underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right shoulder injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr Mark Filomeno, trainer regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 50m mark. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Royal Gossip was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Filomeno pleaded guilty to the charge, Royal Gossip was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Ms Debbie Selleck, the representative of Walk Me Home, placed 2nd, as some noticeable betting fluctuations on fixed odds were noted by Stewards. The comments of Ms Selleck were noted and a sample was taken for analysis.
Due to a technical malfunction with the timing sensor, the semaphore board briefly displayed the incorrect win time for this event as 19:29; the time was amended to the official win time of 19:63 as the placings were semaphored.
