Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Palesa Bale.
Nikoli Bale was slow to begin.
Maelynn Bale and Starlight Blaze collided soon after the start and again in the front straight. Roxy Patron and Nikoli Bale collided in the front straight. Orcades, Roxy Patron and Nikoli Bale collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking Roxy Patron and Nikoli Bale. Starlight Blaze checked off Maelynn Bale on the first turn. Roxy Patron veered out and eased approaching the third turn checking Orcades. Roxy Patron turned its head inwards and visibly eased entering the home straight checking Starlight Blaze. Palesa Bale faltered entering the home straight and collided with Maelynn Bale. Roxy Patron veered out, visibly eased and marred Palesa Bale in the home straight.
Palesa Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 5. Palesa Bale was found to have injuries to the left pectoral muscle and left calf muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Roxy Patron underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 5. Roxy Patron was found to have an injury to the right triangle muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representative, Miss K. Heinrich, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the third turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Roxy Patron was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Ms Heinrich pleaded guilty to the charge, Roxy Patron was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
