Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Dorellie Love.
Mac’s A Million was quick to begin. Dundee Topaz and Dorellie Love were slow to begin. Mac’s A Million and Zheng collided entering the back straight. Kuta Cowboy and Alita collided entering the back straight checking Dorellie Love. Kuta Cowboy visibly eased and turned its head out entering the back straight and collided with Alita. Alita and Zheng collided on the third turn. Alita was checked off Zheng approaching the home turn severely checking Kuta Cowboy and Alita. Zheng and Alita collided approaching the winning post.
Kuta Cowboy underwent a post race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 6. Kuta Cowboy was found to have an injured left pencil muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr. C. Leviston regarding the greyhound’s racing manners entering the back straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Kuta Cowboy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Leviston pleaded guilty to the charge, Kuta Cowboy was found guilty and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
