Steward's Report
Pearl's Entity was quick to begin.
Odessa Rock, Camino Angel collided soon after the start. Lamont Bale checked off Misty Rainbow soon after the start. Misty Rainbow and Very Elegant collided approaching the first turn checking Very Elegant. Camino Angel checked off Pearl's Entity approaching the home turn causing Camino Angel and Lovely Jiggs to collide causing Odessa Rock to hurdle Lovely Jiggs. Camino Angel and Lovely Jiggs collided approaching the home turn checking Lovely Jiggs. Pearl's Entity visibly eased, turned its head inwards and crossed to the rail approaching the winning post checking Misty Rainbow.
A post-race sample was taken from Pearl's Entity - the winner of the event.
Pearl's Entity underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound left hock and a abrasion to the back fore toe. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr G Burns, the trainer of Pearl's Entity regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Pearl's Entity was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Burns pleaded guilty to the charge, Pearl's Entity was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
