Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Perfect Crippa.
Manila Sunrise crossed out soon after the start. Hazey Roy and Aston Nino collided at the 300m mark and again at the 275m mark. Major Winston, Riccarton Weaver, Perfect Crippa and Aston Nino collided at the 150m mark. Hazey Roy turned its head inwards approaching the winning post.
Hazey Roy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left foreleg deltoid muscle, right hindleg hip, and left and right hindleg quadriceps injuries, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr G Selkrig regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Hazey Roy was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Selkrig pleaded not guilty to the charge, Hazey Roy was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
