Dolly Jay was slow to begin.
Irongate, Lala Hibiscus, Orcades and Swift Trance collided approaching the first turn checking Lala Hibiscus and Swift Trance. Lala Hibiscus and Swift Trance collided on the first turn. Irongate and Orcades collided on the first turn.
Villanova underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.
Swift Trance underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right quad injury and a minor fracture to the left scapula. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Jai Willoughby regarding the performance of Villanova in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr. Willoughby, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.
