Steward's Report
Elswyk Storm and Jezza Bence were quick to begin. Sleek Mistress, Pay The Prince and Esfahan collided approaching the first turn. Pay The Prince, Esfahan, El Fernanda and Dundee Candy collided on the first turn checking Pay The Prince, Esfahan and Dundee Candy. Dundee Candy clipped the heels of El Fernanda on the first turn. Sleek Mistress and Pay The Prince collided approaching the home turn. Aston Phoenix crossed out on the home turn and marred Elswyk Storm severely checking Elswyk Storm.
Elswyk Storm underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left triangle muscle and a spike wound on a left hind toe. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Aston Phoenix underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound on the right hock. A 10 day standdownperiod was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Cortese the representative of Aston Phoenix regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Aston Phoenix was charged with marring. Mr. Cortese pleaded guilty to the charge. Aston Phoenix was found guilty and suspended for 3 months all tracks and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any further nomination will be accepted.
