All staff & participants attending the race meeting wore face masks at all times when inside the kennel block and associated buildings, and when engaged in the exclusive race day functions of handling, boxing, starting and catching greyhounds. 

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 26.6 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.4 degrees. The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy. 

During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on all trainers’ vehicles engaged in today’s meeting.  Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.

Stewards spoke to kennel representative Ms S Elmes regarding the scratching of the three greyhounds, Chasing Summer, Chasing Teddy and Chasing The Edge in this event.  Stewards noted that Chasing Love also from the same kennel was left engaged to race.  Ms S Elmes stated that due to the meeting being deemed heat affected, the kennel did not have sufficient means of transport to accommodate all runners engaged today under the GRV transportation policy and as a result scratched these runners as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy.  Ms Elmes further added that in her opinion Chasing Love would be competitive in today's event.  Stewards noted her comments and directed that a post race sample be taken from Chasing Love. 

The Stewards were advised that the track was medium harrowed on Wednesday, 6 January 2021.

Golden Child was quick to begin.  Skibo Boy was slow to begin. Pat May Joy, Chanko Girl and Chasing Love collided soon after the start; checking Chanko Girl and Chasing Love.  Chanko Girl and Chasing Love collided approaching the first turn; checking both greyhounds.  Chanko Girl and Chasing Love collided in the home straight; checking Chanko Girl.

Chanko Girl underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Stewards spoke to handler, Mr P Hammerstein regarding the racing manners of Chanko Girl in the home striaght.  After hearing evidence from Mr Hammerstein, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.

A sample was taken from Elliott Ness upon arrival at the course.

Crymelon Quick was slow to begin. Crymelon Quick faltered on the first turn and tailed off as a result.

Crymelon Quick underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg pencil/whip injury.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Black Hawk Jet was slow to begin. Crymelon Tactile, Aston Edwin and Cam's Girl collided on the first turn; checking Crymelon Tactile, Aston Edwin, Cam's Girl and Black Hawk Jet.  Black Hawk Jet, Aston Edwin and Cam's Girl collided approaching the home turn; checking Black Hawk Jet, Aston Edwin, Cam's Girl and Cullquin Vincent.

A post-race sample was taken from Ninja Girl Mia - the winner of the event.

Tiggerlong Bundy was quick to begin.  Crackerjack Nev was slow to begin.

King Brown was slow to begin.  Dream Of Me checked off Plumber on the first turn.  Fab Nine galloped on Husky Flyer on the first turn; checking both greyhounds.  Betatron raced wide entering the home straight.

The start of this event was delayed one minute, to hold for an Albury thoroughbred race.

Rave On was quick to begin.  Aston Valkyrie was slow to begin.  Kraken Tex checked off Oriental Jade on the first turn.

Indy Nevada and Aston Zephyr were quick to begin.  Mepunga Spectre, Kaison Bale, Rockstar Lincoln and Lizzie's Entity collided soon after the start; checking all four greyhounds.

Tarranginnie and Buzz Out were slow to begin.  Chasing Honey and Moraine Izzy collided soon after the start, checking Moraine Izzy.  Chasing Honey galloped on Rockstar Ohlmus approaching the first turn; checking both greyhounds.  Miss Malfunction and Rockstar Ohlmus collided on the first turn; checking Miss Malfunction, Tarranginnie and Moraine Izzy.  Rockstar Ohlmus and Chasing Honey collided on the first turn; checking Chasing Honey and Buzz Out.  Tarranginnie checked off Miss Malfunction on the home turn.  Miss Malfunction and Chasing Honey collided on the home turn, checking Chasing Honey.  Moraine Izzy and Tarranginnie collided entering the home straight.  Tarranginnie and Chasing Honey collided entering the home straight; checking Tarranginnie and Buzz Out; severely checking Chasing Honey, which stumbled as a result.

Chasing Honey underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg triangle injury.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Come On Aileen underwent a veterinary examination prior to racing and was passed fit to race. 

Cash The Magic and Come On Aileen were quick to begin.  Jaggered and Pass It On collided soon after the start, checking Jaggered.  Jaggered and Fabriola Acai collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn; checking both greyhounds.  Dash Of Reyne and Pass It On collided approaching the home turn; checking Pass It On, Chase The Magic and Come On Aileen, which all raced wide as a result.  Pass It On lost ground approaching the home turn, checking Chase The Magic.

Pass It On underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 12.  Pass It On was found to have a left foreleg monkey muscle injury.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to handler, Mr H Goss regarding the racing manners of Pass It On approaching the home turn.  After hearing evidence from Mr Goss, viewing all the available race footage, acting on their observations and taking into account the injury sustained, Stewards took no further action.

Cheri Clownfish was quick to begin.  Solar Tiny and Ton Eighty were slow to begin.  Ton Eighty checked off Solar Tiny approaching the home turn.

Not All Over and Zero To Hero were slow to begin. Lady Gotham and Our Brinni collided approaching the first turn.  Zero To Hero checked off Our Brinni on the first turn.  Lady Gotham and Our Brinni collided on the first turn; checking Lady Gotham, Zero To Hero and Not All Over.  Lady Gotham and Zero To Hero collided in the home straight, checking Lady Gotham.  Vossy raced wide in the home straight.
