Crackerjack Phil – Late scratching at 5.43pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr. G. Hansen was fined $100.
Windburn, Lightning Gadget and Slingshot Yang collided approaching the first turn checking Lightning Gadget.Pyrenees Pegasus and Out Watto collided approaching the first turn. Lightning Gadget checked off Slingshot Yang on the home turn. Windburn and Slingshot Yang collided in the home straight.
Slingshot Yang underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was found.
Stewards spoke to trainer Mr K. Lloyd regarding the racing manners of Slingshot Yang in the home straight. After hearing evidence from Mr Lloyd, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners in the home straight.
