Steward's Report
A sample was taken from Manila Shine upon arrival at the course.
A pre-race sample was taken from Deedee’s Charm.
Aston Rum was quick to begin. Manila Shine, Master Febey and Deedee’s Charm collided soon after the start. Manila Shine contacted the running rail approaching the first turn causing Manila Shine and Deedee’s Charm to collided checking Deedee’s Charm and severely checking Manila Shine. Master Febey and Deedee’s Charm collided approaching the home turn. David Coin was checked off Aston Rum on the home turn. Miss Somerton tired approaching the winning post.
Deedee’s Charm underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a dislocated toe and a split webbing on the right hind foot. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
Miss Somerton underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Whelan, representative for Miss Somerton and after listening to his explanation Stewards took no further action.
