Steward's Report
Alfie Mikado and Joking Bear collided soon after the start and again at the 300m mark. Malt And Scotch and Parabellum collided at the 150m mark and again several times at the 50m mark. Portelli Punk, Parabellum, Malt And Scotch and Hook Along Pippa collided approaching the winning post. Portelli Punk turned its head outwards and visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Portelli Punk underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right deltoid muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Raymond Floyd, the trainer of Portelli Punk regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Portelli Punk was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Floyd pleaded guilty to the charge, Portelli Punk was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Alfie Mikado underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right metacarpal. No stand down period was imposed.
