Steward's Report
Stewards discussed the frequency of racing for Lea Arandt with representative Mr M Zammit and noted his comments.
The announcement of All Clear was delayed to allow Stewards to review the video footage of the start. After viewing the lateral and head-on footage, and acting on the observations of the Stewards at the start, Stewards were satisfied that all greyhounds had been afforded a fair start and All Clear was given on the semaphored placings.
Minter Explode and Lea Arandt were slow to begin.
Irwin Bale checked off El Sueno approaching the first turn. El Sueno and King Brown collided several times from the first turn to approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds. El Sueno, Irwin Bale and Huntly Star collided entering the home straight.
Huntly Star underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right hind toe and spike wounds to the left hind. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Irwin Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left thigh injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Huntly Star – Proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 52.
