Sarah Beauty turned it's head to the outside soon after the start. Sarah Beauty, Harley Bale, Mt. View Pearl and Holding Hope collided approaching the first turn. Luigi Bale, Fairytale Swank and Harley Bale collided on the first turn checking Luigi Bale and Fairytale Swank. Sarah Beauty and Holding Hope collided entering the home straight and again several times in the home straight.

Sarah Beauty underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 3, no apparent injury could be detected. 

Stewards spoke to Kevin Tirchett, the Trainer of Sarah Beauty regarding the greyhound’s racing manners soon after the start.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69A(1) Sarah Beauty was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment.  Mr Tirchett pleaded guilty to the charge, Sarah Beauty was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69A (2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Style Bender galloped on Zipping Coookie on the home turn checking Zipping Cookie. Queen Lisa galloped on Zipping Cookie on the home turn checking Queen Lisa and severely checking Zipping Cookie and Style Bender. Zipping Cookie raced wide entering the home straight. Butterfly Indee and Damaged collided entering the home straight and again in the home straight checking Subtle Space.

Red Mahogany, Lonesome Star and Tears No More were slow to begin. Lonesome Star and Tears No More collided on the first turn. Rich Con and Bye The Way collided entering the back straight. Bye The Way raced wide in the home straight.

Mt. View Jester and Mt. View Dodger were slow to begin.

Ruby Arizona and Mt. View Dodger collided on the first turn checking Mt. View Dodger.

Mr Ian Robinson failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Pyrenees Pegasus for racing.  A warning was issued pursuant to GAR 46 (2).

Runnin' Riot was slow to begin.

Pyrenees Pegasus, Sin City Agogo and Princess Barcia collided approaching the first turn checking Pyrenees Pegasus which stumbled and lost ground as a result. Princess Barcia and Kid Caldwell collided approaching the first turn checking Kid Caldwell. Sin City Agogo raced wide in the home straight. Big Little Sis and Runnin' Riot collided approaching the winning post.

Indigo Indy and Isotope were quick to begin. Grime Time Zeus was slow to begin.

Also Arandt, Tommy Cawbourne and Mahogany Storm collided soon after the start checking Also Arandt and Tommy Cawbourne. Tommy Cawbourne and Grime Time Zeus collided on the first turn. Cherokee Fawn, Mahogany Flame and Mahogany Storm collided on the first turn checking Mahogany Flame and Tommy Cawbourne. Mahogany Flame and Isotope collided in the home straight. 

Stewards discussed the frequency of racing for Lea Arandt with representative Mr M Zammit and noted his comments.

The announcement of All Clear was delayed to allow Stewards to review the video footage of the start. After viewing the lateral and head-on footage, and acting on the observations of the Stewards at the start, Stewards were satisfied that all greyhounds had been afforded a fair start and All Clear was given on the semaphored placings. 

Minter Explode and Lea Arandt were slow to begin. 

Irwin Bale checked off El Sueno approaching the first turn. El Sueno and King Brown collided several times from the first turn to approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds. El Sueno, Irwin Bale and Huntly Star collided entering the home straight. 

Huntly Star underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right hind toe and spike wounds to the left hind. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Irwin Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left thigh injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Huntly Star – Proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 52. 

Riverdale Bear and Ted Do were slow to begin. Chasing Beers and Magic Lantern collided approaching the first turn checking Chasing Beers and Pure Cool Titan. Riverdale Bear and Chasing Beers collided approaching the first turn checking Riverdale Bear. Quick Income and Ted Do collided on the first turn checking Ted Do. Pure Cool Titan, Magic Lantern and Quick Income collided on the home turn. Magic Lantern and Quick Income collided entering the home straight. Ted Do, Magic Lantern and Quick Income collided in the home straight checking Magic Lantern and Chasing Beers. Baby Eden and Pure Cool Titan collided approaching the winning post.

Crackerjack Baz, Oliver Bale and Max Ruby were quick to begin. 

Berkel Boy checked off Max Ruby approaching the first turn checking Max Ruby. Berkel Boy and Max Ruby collided on the first turn checking Berkel Boy. Piper's Unicorn raced wide on the home turn. Pat's Me Mum raced wide on the home turn. Berkel Boy checked off Dinner Roll in the home straight.

Max Ruby underwent a post-race verterinary examination and was found to have soreness to the right deltoid, left thigh and left monkey muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Run Shifty Run  – Late scratching at 2:53pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24).  A 28 day stand down period was imposed. 

Pai Gow Poker was quick to begin.

Southern Edge and Blue Magic Opal collided approaching the first turn. Blue Magic Opal and Speedy Lemon collided entering the home straight.

Southern Edge underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Stewards discussed the frequency of racing for Southern Edge with trainer Mr J Formosa and noted his comments.
