The traditional 2-wave (odds then evens) boxing process has been re-instated for all races in Victoria from Tuesday 10 November 2020. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times. 

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore facemasks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 24 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18 degrees.  The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy. 

During kennelling Stewards conducted a carpark check on trainers’ vehicles engaged in today’s meeting.  Stewards were satisfied that all transport had adhered to the GRV Hot Weather Policy and the GRV Transportation of Greyhounds Policy.

Like A Skyrocket, Westar Bundy and Mepunga Freda collided soon after the start checking Westar Bundy.  Like A Skyrocket and Mepunga Freda collided on the first turn checking Like A Skyrocket, Mepunga Freda, Green Blazer and Tumbarumba Time.

Post Office Girl was quick to begin.  Sceptic, Silver Lake and Iggy The Goat were slow to begin.

Shima Jake, Wedding Or Baby and Courageous Swan collided on the first turn checking Wedding Or Baby, severely checking Courageous Swan and Silver Lake; causing Silver Lake to fall and check Iggy The Goat.  Sceptic checked off Wedding Or Baby approaching the second turn.  Sceptic and Courageous Swan collided on the home turn.

Silver Lake underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

She's So Kind was quick to begin.  Mepunga Reject, Dancing Cassie, Will It Rain and Between Jobs were slow to begin.

Will It Rain and Between Jobs collided soon after the start.  Dancing Cassie checked off Keep It Black approaching the first turn causing Dancing Cassie to race wide checking Shima Glow and severely checking Will It Rain.  Coterie crossed in on the first turn checking She's So Kind.  Keep It Black and Coterie collided on the second turn.  Dancing Cassie raced wide in the back straight.

In accordance with LR 22 Mr Anthony Lamarca was issued with a warning regarding the non-compliance with the GRV Dress Code.

Crumlin was slow to begin.

Go The Doves and Jane Way collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Galloping Speed and Jane Way collided soon after the start.  Cayden Bale, Happy Hannah and Crumlin collided approaching the first turn.  Cayden Bale checked off Crumlin on the second turn.  Galloping Speed checked off Cayden Bale approaching the third turn.  Go The Doves and Happy Hannah collided approaching the fourth turn checking both greyhounds.  Cayden Bale and Galloping Speed collided on the home turn.  

Rock On Jimmy, Cell Block Tango, Close Your Eyes and Lee Ali collided soon after the start checking Cell Block Tango, Close Your Eyes and Lee Ali.  Weetbix Jester, Rock On Jimmy, Lee Ali and Keefe collided on the first turn checking all four greyhounds.  Pilbara galloped on Keefe approaching the second turn checking Keefe.  Rock On Jimmy checked off Pilbara entering the back straight.  Rock On Jimmy and Cell Block Tango collided approaching the home turn checking Rock On Jimmy.  Caveman Yap and Lee Ali collided on the home turn.  Weetbix Jester and Lee Ali collided on the home turn.  Weetbix Jester and Lee Ali collided in the home straight.  

Lee Ali underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Weetbix Jester underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mrs B. Breen regarding the racing manners of Weetbix Jester on the home turn.  After hearing evidence from Mrs Breen, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.

Brickman and Houdini Boy were slow to begin.

Major Giblet, I'm Easy Boys and Zero Cool collided on the first turn checking Major Giblet and I'm Easy Boys.  I'm Easy Boys and Brickman collided on the second turn checking I'm Easy Boys.  

A pre-race sample was taken from All Cylinders.

Tribal and Flair were quick to begin.  Moroka Magic was slow to begin.

All Cylinders and Artic Assassin collided soon after the start.  Flair, All Cylinders, Royalty Runa, Artic Assassin and Eight Ball collided approaching the first turn checking All Cylinders and Paper Plane.  Royalty Runa checked off All Cylinders on the first turn.  Flair and All Cylinders collided on the third turn checking All Cylinders.  Paper Plane checked off Moroka Magic approaching the home turn.  Paper Plane raced wide on the home turn and again in the home straight.  

Sovereign Wind was quick to begin.  Snooker Que and Cryer's Spring were slow to begin.

Ulricken Bale checked off Don't Argue Love on the first turn checking Georgia Kate.  Snooker Que, Konta and Cryer's Spring collided on the first turn severely checking Konta and Cryer's Spring.  Snooker Que and Georgia Kate collided in the home straight.  

Resurgence was slow to begin.

Golden Skyrocket and Invictus Ethan collided soon after the start.  Invictus Ethan checked off Golden Skyrocket approaching the first turn.  Invictus Ethan and Notoriety collided approaching the first turn checking Notoriety.  Golden Skyrocket, Off It's Chops, Westar Manson and Eyes Nose Lips collided approaching the first turn checking Golden Skyrocket, severely checking Notoriety, Off It's Chops and Eyes Nose Lips; Notoriety lost ground and subsequentially tailed off.  Resurgence and Suntory Rose collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds.  Off It's Chops and Eyes Nose Lips collided on the second turn.  Eyes Nose Lips checked off Resurgence entering the home straight.

Suntory Rose underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Notoriety underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a minor split webbing to the right foreleg paw.  No stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Representative Miss M. Toner regarding the greyhound's performance in this event.  In accordance with GAR 75 (1), the Stewards requested the kennel to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Notoriety in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.

Supplementary Report (added 17/11/2020)

Notoriety - Trainer Mr G. Rounds advised that the greyhound was x-rayed subsequent to the meeting and found to have a right elbow injury. Mr Rounds indicated that the greyhound would not race again for approximately a month.

Trainer Mr J. Portelli was issued with a warning under (GAR 86(o)) for negligence after the greyhound Another Easy was placed in the incorrect kennel during the kennelling process.  The Club official was reminded of their responsibilities with the matter referred to the Club Manager for further consideration.

Great Scout and Two Pars were slow to begin.

Great Scout and Another Easy collided soon after the start checking Great Scout.  Who Did That, Plan Ahead, Another Easy and Mepunga Warrior collided on the first turn checking Who Did That, Another Easy, Mepunga Warrior, Great Scout and Two Pars.  Great Scout checked off Who Did That entering the back straight.  Mepunga Warrior and Great Scout collided on the third turn checking Mepunga Warrior.  Jazz Opera and Invictus Jaxson collided on the third turn.

Arizona Gold was slow to begin.

Blackest Black, Kenny The Brute and King Of Calypso collided on the first turn checking Kenny The Brute and King Of Calypso.  King Of Calypso checked off Arizona Gold on the third turn.

Sizzling Sam, Hank The Hustler and Mepunga Holly collided on the first turn checking Hank The Hustler, Debbie's Destiny and Mepunga Holly.  Broadway Bullet and Delancy Bale collided on the first turn, again on the second turn and again on the third turn checking both greyhounds.
