Opal Beach – Late scratching at 11.03am when trainer, Mr John Jarkis reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate pursuant to GAR 20(3)(v) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Podium and Paua Of Oscar collided soon after the start. Tickle My Fancy was checked off Top Faith entering the home straight causing Tickle My Fancy to cross out. Tickle My Fancy raced wide in the home straight. Tickle My Fancy faltered approaching the winning post.
Tickle My Fancy underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a fractured left hock and an injured left flexor tendon. A 60 day stand down period was imposed.
