Zen Mistress and Aston Rum were quick to begin.
Aston Rum and Zen Mistress collided soon after the start. Riverdale Bear and Zen Mistress collided soon after the start checking Riverdale Bear. Aston Rum crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Zen Mistress which collided with Catch Kate and Thirty Red. Brayden Lennox and Riverdale Bear collided approaching the home turn checking Riverdale Bear, causing Brayden Lennox to fall.
Brayden Lennox underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a fracture to the right humerous. Brayden Lennox was humanely euthanised.
