Real Reward and Go Gem were quick to begin and collided soon after the start. Real Reward crossed in on the first turn checking Somerton Rose, Zipping Gypsy, She Rules and Odd Gem. Real Reward and Go Gem collided on the home turn. Go Gem crossed out entering the home straight checking Real Reward. Go Gem raced wide in the home straight. Zipping Gypsy and Odd Gem collided in the home straight severely checking Odd Gem which fell.
Odd Gem underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
