Galloping Rocky and Warranty were slow to begin.
Why Not Wayne and Young Hawke collided soon after the start. Young Hawke and Cry Baby Jeff collided on the first turn checking Young Hawke and causing Cry Baby Jeff to fall. Cosmic Tequila, Soho Rhythm and Flossy Thelly collided on the first turn checking Soho Rhythm and Flossy Thelly. Cosmic Tequila, Soho Rhythm and Why Not Wayne collided entering the home straight checking Cosmic Tequila and Soho Rhythm. Young Hawke raced wide in the home straight.
Cry Baby Jeff was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a torn nail on the right forefoot. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
