Steward's Report
Mrs. Dirts, Star Doll and Polkadot Flyer were slow to begin. Young Gunner checked off Smiley Sam soon after the start. Smiley Sam checked off Fourier Bale approaching the first turn. Young Gunner and Star Doll collided on the first turn checking Polkadot Flyer. Mrs. Dirts and Young Gunner collided on the second turn checking Star Doll. Star Doll checked off Honey Blossom on the home turn. Smiley Sam and Fourier Bale collided in the home straight. Smiley Sam eased approaching the winning post checking Fourier Bale.
Stewards spoke to Mrs. L. Delbridge, the trainer of the greyhound Smiley Sam. Smiley Sam was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to it's right triceps and right hock. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Smiley Sam with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
