The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Why Not Gold and no illness was detected.  The greyhound was a late scratching at 6:04pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr. G. Carter, was fined the sum of $100.

Monte Carlo was quick to begin.  Arolok Sam and Cruisy's Joy were slow to begin.  Ima Screw Loose and Boris Bekim collided approaching the first turn.  Ima Screw Loose, Boris Bekim and Arolok Sam collided on the first turn checking Boris Bekim and Cruisy's Joy and severely checking Ima Screw Loose and Arolok Sam.

Deadly Caper was slow to begin.  Cruisy Limelight, Lektra Anna and Friday Girl collided soon after the start checking Lektra Anna and Friday Girl.  Miss Trewvain checked off Cruisy Limelight on the first turn.  Lektra Anna and Friday Girl collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Ambergris Lady and Lachlan Bear collided on the home turn and both raced wide in the home straight as a result.  Miss Trewvain and Deadly Caper collided on the home turn.  Miss Trewvain and Deadly Caper raced wide in the home straight.

Lynlaw Dave was slow to begin.  Rocky Toy checked off Chief soon after the start.  Lynlaw Dave checked off Rocky Toy approaching the home turn.  Rocky Toy checked off Quirinus Quirrel approaching the home turn.  Lynlaw Dave checked off Rocky Toy on the home turn.  Quirinus Quirrel checked off Mamba in the home straight.

MIss North Star was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr. W. Alley, the representative of the greyhound Miss North Star regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the first turn.

Mrs. Dirts, Star Doll and Polkadot Flyer were slow to begin.  Young Gunner checked off Smiley Sam soon after the start.  Smiley Sam checked off Fourier Bale approaching the first turn.  Young Gunner and Star Doll collided on the first turn checking Polkadot Flyer.  Mrs. Dirts and Young Gunner collided on the second turn checking Star Doll.  Star Doll checked off Honey Blossom on the home turn.  Smiley Sam and Fourier Bale collided in the home straight.  Smiley Sam eased approaching the winning post checking Fourier Bale.

Stewards spoke to Mrs. L. Delbridge, the trainer of the greyhound Smiley Sam.  Smiley Sam was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to it's right triceps and right hock.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Smiley Sam with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mystic Grille and Madi Monster were slow to begin.  Nindigully Boy and Time Dimension collided soon after the start checking Madi Monster.  Midway Magic checked off Madi Monster on the first turn causing Midway Magic to lose considerable ground as a result.  Nindigully Boy checked off Time Dimension approaching the second turn.  Nindigully Boy checked off Almani Dotz on the second turn.  Rulz The Track checked off Nindigully Boy approaching the home turn.  Nindigully Boy checked off Almani Dotz on the home turn.  Time Dimension raced wide on the home turn.

Jaraco was quick to begin.  Goddess Mist checked off King Wolf on the first turn.  Wings To Fly checked off Miss Hombre approaching the home turn.  Miss Hombre and Goddess Mist raced wide on the home turn.

High Success and Why Not Luke were slow to begin.  Triple Figure checked off Why Not Luke soon after the start.  High Success checked off Aeroplane Paddy approaching the home turn checking Select What.  High Success and Select What collided on the home turn.  Why Not Luke checked off Dr. Nibette entering the home straight.

Cudgee Creek and Soul Maker were slow to begin.  Cudgee Creek checked off Lynlaw Ted soon after the start.  Uno Vilson checked off All Star Girl on the first turn severely checking Lynlaw Ted and Cudgee Creek; Lynlaw Ted lost considerable ground as a result.

Arolok Jimmy and Itz Triple Tex were slow to begin and collided soon after the start.  Belena Lad checked off Punk Star Lass approaching the home turn.  Select Jess checked off Angel Raine approaching the home turn.  Angel Raine and Select Jess collided on the home turn causing both greyhounds to race wide.

Itz Triple Tex was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to both it's wrists.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
