The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Why Not Gold and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 6:04pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer, Mr. G. Carter, was fined the sum of $100.
Monte Carlo was quick to begin. Arolok Sam and Cruisy's Joy were slow to begin. Ima Screw Loose and Boris Bekim collided approaching the first turn. Ima Screw Loose, Boris Bekim and Arolok Sam collided on the first turn checking Boris Bekim and Cruisy's Joy and severely checking Ima Screw Loose and Arolok Sam.
Ima Screw Loose was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
