Steward's Report
Buzz Out, Fishbone Express and Orion Bale were slow to begin. What Feeling was very slow to begin (3 lengths).
Buzz Out and Fishbone Express collided approaching the first turn checking Buzz Out. Why Not Jamie, Fishbone Express, Astro Naughton and Orion Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Why Not Jamie, What Feeling and severely checking Fishbone Express and Astro Naughton; Fishbone Express lost ground as a result. Orion Bale marred Draconic Lad approaching the winning post.
Orion Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the left hock. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Luke Harris, the Trainer of Orion Bale regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Orion Bale was charged with marring. Mr Harris pleaded guilty to the charge, Orion Bale is suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Draconic Lad - the winner of the event.
