Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Libby The Ripper - late scratching at 8:32am due to injury. GRV Stewards opened and finalised an inquiry into the late scratching of Libby The Ripper at 8.32am this morning, a short time after the closure of scratchings.  In hearing a submission from Trainer - Ms. L. Farquar, she acknowledged she had failed to scratch the greyhound by the appointed time.  Stewards fined Ms. Farquar the sum of $100 pursuant to GAR86(0) in that she negligently failed to scratch Libby The Ripper prior to the scratching deadline.

Baileys And Milk was quick to begin. Pyrenees Pegasus, We Will Prevail and Mahogany Flame were slow to begin.

Baileys And Milk and Create A Scene collided approaching the first turn checking Pyrenees Pegasus, We Will Prevail, Murder Nova and Midnight Pompeii. Murder Nova and Midnight Pompeii collided on the first turn checking Midnight Pompeii. Pyrenees Pegasus checked off Create A Scene on the first turn. Create A Scene and Mahogany Flame collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Murder Nova raced wide on the home turn. Mahogany Flame checked off Pyrenees Pegasus in the home straight and crossed out.

Buzz Out, Fishbone Express and Orion Bale were slow to begin. What Feeling was very slow to begin (3 lengths).

Buzz Out and Fishbone Express collided approaching the first turn checking Buzz Out. Why Not Jamie, Fishbone Express, Astro Naughton and Orion Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Why Not Jamie, What Feeling and severely checking Fishbone Express and Astro Naughton; Fishbone Express lost ground as a result. Orion Bale marred Draconic Lad approaching the winning post.

Orion Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the left hock. No stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Luke Harris, the Trainer of Orion Bale regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Orion Bale was charged with marring. Mr Harris pleaded guilty to the charge, Orion Bale is suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A post-race sample was taken from Draconic Lad - the winner of the event.

Ultra High  - Late scratching at 2:15pm due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. 

A pre-race sample was taken from Run On Time.

Caden Bale and Rimrock Sally collided soon after the start checking Rimrock Sally. Piper's Unicorn, Cayden Bale and Our Ryker collided approaching the first turn. Piper's Unicorn, Run On Time and Lewis Otis collided on the first turn checking Piper's Unicorn, Lewis Otis and severely checking Run On Time. Rimrock Sally raced wide approaching the home turn checking Lewis Otis. Piper's Unicorn raced wide on the home turn and collided with Our Ryker several times in the home straight, severely checking both greyhounds. 

Piper's Unicorn underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hock. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Our Ryker underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wounds to the left rear toes. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards reviewed a racing incident which occurred in the home straight involving Our Ryker and Piper's Unicorn. Stewards spoke to trainers Mr S. Jackson and Mr T Boehmke regarding the incident and directed the greyhounds be vetted. During the examinations it was noted that both greyhounds suffered spike wounds, as reported above. Stewards spoke to On Track Veterinarian, Dr Finlayson who stated that these spike wounds were more than likely a result of the incident in the home straight. After taking submissions from all parties, and taking particular note of the head on footage, as well as the injuries sustained, Stewards took no action in relation to the incident.

Dolce You Too checked off Waikerie Bandit approaching the first turn. Rumpelstiltskin, Destini Ninja and Sweet Rhythm collided approaching the first turn checking Sweet Rhythm, severely checking Rumpelstiltskin and Destini Ninja; Rumpelstiltskin contacted the running rail as a result. Waikerie Bandit checked off Weblec Pearl on the first turn. Dolce You Too raced wide entering the home straight. 

Isotope was quick to begin. Suited Kings and Konta were slow to begin. 

Empire Baz and Aerolithology collided soon after the start. Konta checked off Suited Kings approaching the first turn. Konta checked off Empire Baz on the first turn checking Empire Baz. Follow The Que and Suited Kings collided approaching the home turn. 

Grime Time Zeus went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Golden Charm was very slow to begin (4 lengths).

Delusional Fab, Debut Knight and Cherokee Fawn collided on the first turn checking Debut Knight and Cherokee Fawn. Delusional Fab and Golden Charm collided on the second turn checking Golden Charm. Delusional Fab and Golden Charm collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking Delusional Fab and Debut Knight.

Bob's Brew checked off Osiris Child on the first turn. Magnet Force checked off Umar Allen approaching the home turn checking Tuesday's Grace. Honest Keithy raced wide in the home straight.

Further Dreamer underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hind nail injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Joe Uglietta, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Further Dreamer was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Uglietta pleaded guilty to the charge, Further Dreamer must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Solar Life underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hind toe injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Victor Millington, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Solar Life was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Millington pleaded guilty to the charge, Solar Life perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

True - Late scratching at 6:08pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Richard Boehm was fined $100.
