Nebraska Nell was slow to begin.
Nebraska Nell checked off Lil Snooze soon after the start. Aston Peroni, Ed Deeds, Stebonheath Lad and Zipping Walter collided on the first turn; checking Aston Peroni, severely checking Ed Deeds; causing Stebonheath Lad to fall and pull up. Lil Snooze, Wilbur Deeds and Vin Joel collided on the first turn; checking Wilbur Deeds and Vin Joel. Aston Peroni checked off Vin Joel approaching the home turn. Nebraska Nell and Wilbur Deeds collided entering the home straight.
