Dash Of Reyne, Nevada Phil and Kenita collided soon after the start. Darra Onyx and Savannah Lee collided on the first turn. Savannah Lee and Lachie's Legacy collided on the second turn. Dash Of Reyne and Nevada Phil collided on the second turn. Dash Of Reyne and Star Blazer collided on the home turn. Nevada Phil turned it's head outwards and visibly eased in the home straight.
Nevada Phil underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have thumps. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. I. Garland, the trainer of Nevada Phil regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Nevada Phil was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Garland pleaded guilty to the charge, Nevada Phil is suspended for 28 days at Bendigo and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
