Steward's Report
Trainer Mr. J Higgins was questioned regarding the scratching of Rough Ride in this event. Mr Higgins explained that the greyhound sustained a shoulder injury during its satisfactory trial and he was anticipating the injury would have responded to treatment in order to compete today. After considering his explanation for the scratching, Mr Higgins' comments were noted.
Son Of Peter, Lily Leopard and Buy The Dip collided soon after the start checking Son Of Peter and Lily Leopard. Maddingley Park checked off Rockstar Duff soon after the start. Blair's Tulip checked off Harley Bale approaching the home turn. Son Of Peter and Lily Leopard collided on the home turn. Harley Bale and Rockstar Duff collided entering the home straight.
Lily Leopard underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Trainer's representative Mr. C. Capuano advised Stewards that the connections were attempting to retire the greyhound to GAP.
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Buy The Dip, a post race sample was subsequently taken.
