Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore facemasks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Track Curator Mr J. Loudon advised that the track was medium harrowed on Thursday 17 September 2020. 

Blackpool Storm was quick to begin. Swamp Donkey was slow to begin.

Big Tango and Super Harry collided approaching the first turn checking Big Tango. Super Harry checked off Aston Barty on the first turn. Work Chat checked off Aston Barty on first turn. Swamp Donkey, Work Chat and Super Harry collided approaching the home turn checking Work Chat and Super Harry. Work Chat and Super Harry collided on the home turn checking Work Chat.

Trainer Mr. J Higgins was questioned regarding the scratching of Rough Ride in this event. Mr Higgins explained that the greyhound sustained a shoulder injury during its satisfactory trial and he was anticipating the injury would have responded to treatment in order to compete today. After considering his explanation for the scratching, Mr Higgins' comments were noted.  

Son Of Peter, Lily Leopard and Buy The Dip collided soon after the start checking Son Of Peter and Lily Leopard. Maddingley Park checked off Rockstar Duff soon after the start. Blair's Tulip checked off Harley Bale approaching the home turn. Son Of Peter and Lily Leopard collided on the home turn. Harley Bale and Rockstar Duff collided entering the home straight.

Lily Leopard underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Trainer's representative Mr. C. Capuano advised Stewards that the connections were attempting to retire the greyhound to GAP.

A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Buy The Dip, a post race sample was subsequently taken.

Galaxy Horse - New declared weight of 25.6kgs. last raced at 26.8kgs.

La La Jersey underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mrs Donna Knight, the trainer of La La Jersey and issued a warning regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.

Alvira - Late scratching at 2.17pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Elizabeth Lloyd was fined $100.

Riverdale Tommy was slow to begin. 

Jullisa Bale, Busy Izzy and Lucky Yap collided approaching the first turn checking Busy Izzy. Dinner Roll, Jullisa Bale and Lucky Yap collided on the first turn checking Jullisa Bale. Jullisa Bale and Busy Izzy collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Luboko checked off Bourne Maximum soon after the start. Mr. Blurton and Riverdale Shine collided soon after the start checking Riverdale Shine. Supercross, Belena Blaze and Bourne Maximum collided approaching the first turn checking Supercross and Bourne Maximum and severely checking Belena Blaze. Yondu underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was reexamined following Race 8. Yondu was found to have a left hindleg quadriceps muscle injury and a lumbo-sacral injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Why Not Patrick was slow to begin.

Midnight Titan checked off Kurri Kurri soon after the start. Darwin O'Connor checked off Midnight Titan on the first turn. Dundee Blitz and Midnight Titan collided in the home straight. 

Darwin O'Connor underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg triangle muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Piper's Unicorn shifted out soon after the start checking Indy Nevada, Lainey Basil, Grand Giveaway and Done Time. Piper's Unicorn and Silver Bronx collided approaching the first turn checking Piper's Unicorn. Indy Nevada, Lainey Basil, Grand Giveaway and Done Time collided on the first turn checking Indy Nevada, Lainey Basil and Grand Giveaway. Cairnlea Abby visibly eased approaching the first turn. Devil's Cartel, Debut Knight, Lana's Image, Bad Bailey and Dust Up collided on the first turn checking Dust Up and Bad Bailey.

Cairnlea Abby underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left hindleg quadriceps muscle injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Ray Gatt, regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Cairnlea Abby was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Gatt pleaded guilty to the charge, Cairnlea Abby must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Broken Pieces checked off Kelli Pochette approaching the first turn. Falconetti checked off Smash Flash on the first turn also checking Chief Command. Broken Pieces and Sudoku Ninja collided on the first turn checking Broken Pieces. Kelli Pochette and Smash Flash collided approaching the home turn checking Kelli Pochette which collided with Falconetti.

A post-race sample was taken from Falconetti - the winner of the event.

Broken Pieces underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg wrist injury. A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Kelli Pochette - Stewards were satisfied with the boxing of the greyhound tonight and removed the boxed first endorsement for future events in accordance with GAR 52.
