Steward's Report
Russian Sub – Late scratching at 8:46 am when trainer, Mr H Goss reported the greyhound to have an illness (GAR 23). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.
A pre-race sample was taken from Lightning Fury.
See Nitro and Katathani Kid were slow to begin. Nitro Yap, Supercross and Lots Of Nitro collided soon after the start, checking Lots Of Nitro. Lightning Fury and Supercross collided approaching the first turn. Lightning Fury and Nitro Yap collided approaching the home turn, checking Lightning Fury. Lightning Fury and Supercross collided on the home turn, checking Supercross.
See Nitro, which trailed the field, underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-vetted following race nine and was found to have a right hindleg non-weight bearing injury. A seven day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr A Graham, the trainer of See Nitro, and acting under GAR 75 (1) Stewards ordered Mr Graham to report anything which may have affected the running of See Nitro, that was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
