Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Mr T. Britton failed to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve and prepare Forcefully for racing. Mr Britton was fined $150 pursuant to GAR 46 (2)

Mr. Fix It crossed to the inside soon after the start and collided with Gitan and Canadian Mist. Think Big Harry and Arizona Gold collided approaching the first turn causing Think Big Harry to brush the running rail. Canadian Mist and Mr. Fix It collided approaching the first turn checking Canadian Mist and Gitan. Gitan checked off Arizona Gold in the back straight. Forcefully and Mr. Fix It collided in the back straight. Forcefully, Think Big Harry and Mr. Fix It collided approaching the third turn severely checking Think Big Harry. Mr. Fix It checked off Arizona Gold on the third turn. Gitan eased on the third turn and collided with Mr. Fix It forcing both greyhounds to race wide severely checking Mr. Fix It. Gitan checked off Mr. Fix It approaching the home turn. Think Big Harry checked off Forcefully approaching the home turn checking Arizona Gold. Gitan checked off Mr. Fix It entering the home straight.

Gitan underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the right hindleg. A 3 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to handler Mr K. Richards, regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the third turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Gitan was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Richards pleaded guilty to the charge, Gitan must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr. Fix It underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

You Ember was very slow to begin - 2 lengths.

Moodswing Tarny checked off Bird House Brown in the front straight checking Colden Dayto. Moodswing Tarny and Colden Dayto collided approaching the first turn. Rhonda Lily, You Ember and Miss Ali collided on the first turn severely checking You Ember and Colden Dayto. Colden Dayto checked off Moodswing Tarny on the first turn. Colden Dayto checked off Weblec Storm on the second turn. Moodswing Tarny raced wide on the home turn.

Midnight Force, Tiger's Twenty, Fifteen Love and Fleck collided on the first turn checking Midnight Force and Tiger's Twenty. Isotope checked off Fernando Frank entering the front straight checking Fashion Icon and Darwin O'Connor. Fleck and Midnight Force collided on the second turn checking Fleck severely checking Darwin O'Connor who raced wide as a result. Tiger's Twenty marred Fleck on the second turn checking Fleck. Fifteen Love and Midnight Force collided on the third turn. Tiger's Twenty and Fifteen Love collided approaching the home turn. Tiger's Twenty marred Isotope entering the home straight checking Isotope.

Stewards spoke to Mr K. Ward, the trainer of Tiger's Twenty regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the second turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Tiger's Twenty was charged with marring. Mr Ward pleaded guilty to the charge, Tiger's Twenty is suspended for 28 days at The Meadows and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
