Titanium Lad shifted in soon after the start, checking Sir Julian, Aston Verve and Titanium Lad. Riverdale Tuohy and Titanium Lad collided approaching the first turn. Crazy Old Fool checked off Red Hot Chance approaching the first turn, checking Sir Julian. Sir Julian, Aston Verve and Southern Edge collided on the first turn, checking all three greyhounds. Sir Julian checked Crazy Old Fool approaching the home turn, checking Aston Verve. Red Hot Chance and Titanium Lad collided repeatedly in the home straight. Aston Verve and Southern Edge collided in the home straight. Sir Julian and Aston Verve collided approaching the winning post.
Sir Julian underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a cervico-thoracic injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
