Steward's Report
Just A Fidget - The frequency of racing was discussed with trainer, Mr J Formosa his comments were noted.
Empire Baz, Isotope and Bright Blue were quick to begin. Limburg Special and Pyrenees Daisy were slow to begin.
Cawbourne Gout and Golden Charm collided soon after the start, checking Cawbourne Gout. Empire Baz and Isotope collided on the first turn. Limburg Special checked off Cawbourne Gout approaching the second turn. Bright Blue checked off Isotope approaching the home turn. Pyrenees Daisy checked off Bright Blue approaching the home turn. Limburg Special tired in the home straight. Bright Blue turned its head outwards approaching the winning post and collided with Isotope.
Limburg Special underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 11. Limburg Special was found to have a spike wound to the right hind toe and a right foreleg deltoid muscle injury. A five day stand down period was imposed.
Bright Blue underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right foreleg shin soreness, a seven day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr C Hughes regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Bright Blue was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Hughes pleaded not guilty to the charge, Bright Blue was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Just A Fidget underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
