Steward's Report
Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face-masks/covers that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Stewards altered the closing time of kennelling in accordance with GAR 31, due to the late arrival of Mr K Breen who experienced vehicle issues on-route to the track. The kennels closed at 2:38 pm.
Misty Arandt, Maddingley Park and Lainey Basil were quick to begin.
Rumpelstiltskin and Brindi Yaala collided soon after the start. Pete Cabang checked off Misty Arandt soon after the start. Misty Arandt and Maddingley Park collided approaching the first turn. Rumpelstiltskin, Midnight Pompeii and Brindi Yaala collided approaching the first turn. Pete Cabang, Misty Arandt and Maddingley Park collided on the first turn, checking Misty Arandt, Maddingley Park and Mahogany Flame; causing Misty Arandt, Rumpelstiltskin, Mahogany Flame, Midnight Pompeii and Brindi Yaala to collide; causing Mahogany Flame and Maddingley Park to fall; and severely checking Midnight Pompeii. Misty Arandt and Rumpelstiltskin collided approaching the home turn.
Mahogany Flame underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Midnight Pompeii underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have left and right hindleg toe injuries. A five day stand down period was imposed.
Maddingley Park underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have spike wound injuries to the left metatarsal area. No stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Lainey Basil - the winner of the event.
