Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Aston Gates and Fugacious were slow to begin.  Aragog and Estrella Starr collided soon after the start.  Aston Gates crossed to the rail soon after the start.  Aston Gates checked off Outstanding News and Fugacious approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds causing Aston Gates to race wide.  Karma Bale and Estrella Starr collided on the first turn.  Aragog, Karma Bale and Blue Gal collided approaching the second turn.  Aston Caruso checked off Blue Gal on the second turn severely checking Aston Caruso and Aston Gates.  Aston Caruso and Aston Gates collided several times entering the back straight causing both greyhounds to lose ground.  Fugacious, Aston Caruso and Aston Gates collided approaching the third turn.  Blue Gal checked off Aragog on the home turn and again entering the home straight.

Belle Ali was very slow to begin (6 lengths).  Zulu Walk and Sanctify collided soon after the start.  Dustification crossed to the inside soon after the start and collided with Red The Run and Jai And Sauce.  Jai And Sauce and Zulu Walk collided in the front straight.  Zulu Walk, Jai And Sauce and Dustification collided approaching the first turn.  Zulu Walk checked off Jai And Sauce on the first tur, severely checking Curly Top, Zulu Walk and Red The Run.  Jai And Sauce and Dustification collided on the second turn.  Jai And Sauce checked off Dustification entering the back straight.  Red The Run checked off Jai And Sauce in the back straight.  Belle Ali and Jai And Sauce collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.

Mepunga Felix and Razor Burn were very slow to begin (1 length) and collided soon after the start.  Nadali was slow to begin.  Devel Sixteen and Iago Bale collided soon after the start.  Rothwell Gal, Devel Sixteen and Iago Bale collided in the front straight.  Iago Bale checked off Nadali approaching the first turn.  Devel Sixteen, Iago Bale, Mepunga Felix and Razor Burn collided approaching the first turn severely checking Mepunga Felix.  Rothwell Gal and Razor Burn collided on the first turn.  Devel Sixteen and Iago Bale collided approaching the second turn.  Zambora Lion checked off Nadali on the second turn.  Nadali checked off Razor Burn on the second turn.  Nadali faltered on the second turn and collided with Mepunga Felix which fell as a result.  Devel Sixteen checked off Iago Bale entering the back straight.  Rothwell Gal and Razor Burn collided approaching the home turn checking Razor Burn.  Devel Sixteen checked off Iago Bale on the home turn.

Nadali was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right back muscle, a 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Mepunga Felix was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the right calf muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Rockstar Beav and I'm Easy Boys collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Keeper Of Keys checked off Weblec Haze on the second turn.  I'm Easy Boys checked off Red Rochelle on the second turn.  Rajasthan checked off Weblec Haze entering the back straight.  Rajasthan checked off Keeper Of Keys in the back straight.  Rajasthan checked off Keeper Of Keys entering the home straight.

Supplementary Report: On Wednesday 15 July 2020, the Stewards received a Veterinary Report from Dr Des Fagan indicating that Franki Jay had a torn tendon in the right achilles, which could/will require a 60 day rehabilitation.
