Steward's Report
Thirty Red and Love A Talk were slow to begin.
Why Not Rose, By Your Side and What's Up Skip collided on the first turn. Thirty Red and What's Up Skip collided approaching the home turn. Thirty Red and Love A Talk collided on the home turn. By Your Side faltered on the home turn and subsequently pulled up, checking Thirty Red and Love A Talk.
By Your Side underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right tarsal sprain. A 14 day stand down period was imposed. After consulting with the on-course veterinarian and considering the injury sustained to the greyhound during the run, representative Mr Martin Galea advised stewards that he intends to have the greyhound further examined and x-rayed by his veterinarian in the coming days. Acting under GAR 75 (1) Stewards requested that Mr Galea report the findings of the examination to the stewards as soon as practicable.
SUPPLEMENTARY REPORT:
On 13 July 2020 Stewards received verification that By Your Side had been examined at the Craigiburn Veterinary Hospital on Saturday 10 July 2020 where it was confirmed that the greyhound had sustained an injury to the right central tarsal bone.
