A pre-race sample was taken from Big Baccala.
Flash Angel and Aston Moscato were quick to begin.
Time Twister and Aston Moscato collided approaching the first turn causing Time Twister to falter and lose considerable ground and pull up as a result. Gazza's Pick and Riverdale Bear collided on the first turn. Close Encounter and Flash Angel collided in the home straight.
A post-race sample was taken from Close Encounter - the winner of the event.
Time Twister underwent a post-race veterinary examination was found to have suffered a fractured right hock. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
