Steward's Report
Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.
All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Running The Wind was slow to begin. Skating Queen and Rock On John collided soon after the start checking Rock On John. Simmo's My Bro and My Father's Son collided soon after the start checking My Father's Son. Love And Rain and Mighty Fabio collided soon after the start and again approaching the first turn. Skating Queen, Rock On John and Mighty Fabio collided on the first turn checking Mighty Fabio, Shrek's Rose, Simmo's My Bro and Ruunning The Wind. Mighty Fabio galloped on Rock On John approaching the second turn and collided with Simmo's My Bro, checking Shrek's Rose and Running The Wind and severely checking Simmo's My Bro which lost considerable ground and subsequently tailed off; Mighty Fabio fell as a result. Love And Rain crossed out in the back straight causing Rock On John to gallop on Love And Rain. Love And Rain, Rock On John and Skating Queen collided on the third turn checking My Father's Son and Skating Queen. My Father's Son checked off Skating Queen in the home straight. Love And Rain and Skating Queen collided approaching the winning post.
Mighty Fabio underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration on the left hind leg and a spike wound on the right wrist. No stand down period was imposed.
Simmo's My Bro underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the left hock, right hind toe and right fore toe. No stand down period was imposed.
Skating Queen underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Stewards spoke to Mr Liam Sharp, the representative for Skating Queen regarding its performance in the back straight and in the home straight. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Skating Queen must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
