A sample was taken from Black Beauty at the Trainer’s kennel earlier today.
Hadarah Bale, Kiomara and Screen Shot collided on the first turn checking Hadarah Bale, Black Beauty and severely checking Kiomara which fell. Hadarah Bale and Black Beauty collided on the second turn. Black Beauty checked off Screen Shot approaching the fourth turn. Black Beauty clipped the heels of Screen Shot approaching the home turn. Screen Shot and Black Beauty collided entering the home straight. Screen Shot, Black Beauty and Lightwood Lass collided in the home straight. Black Beauty visably turned its head in and marred Screen Shot in the home straight.
Kiomara underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the left hind toe, thigh and metacarpal. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Mr T. Cortese, the trainer of Black Beauty regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Black Beauty was charged with marring. Mr Cortese pleaded guilty to the charge, Black Beauty is suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
