Steward's Report
Burning Eddy was quick to begin. Yondu and Lightning Artist collided on the first turn checking Yondu. Burning Eddy and Guilty As collided approaching the second turn. Aston Squire galloped on the heels of Burning Eddy approaching the second turn checking both greyhounds. Guilty As visibly eased approaching the second turn checking Burning Eddy, Aston Squire and Guilty As. Burning Eddy and Aston Squire collided approaching the home turn and on the home turn.
Guilty As underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left sesamoid injury and a spike wound to the right hind limb. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to representatative Mr. T. Salpigtidis, regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Guilty As was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Salpigtidis pleaded guilty to the charge, Guilty As must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
