Steward's Report
Stewards questioned Trainer, Mr J.Formosa regarding the number of starts that Kareda Gold has had over the past month, today being 8 starts in 28 days. Mr Formosa stated that the greyhound is currently racing well and he has the greyhound checked regularly. Stewards noted Mr Formosas' explanation.
A pre-race sample was taken from Atlas Bombshell.
Kareda Gold, Elegant Malt, Rotarua and Zero To Hero collided soon after the start. Especial Empire and Kareda Gold collided approaching the first turn checking Kareda Gold. Jitterbug Witch and Especial Empire collided on the first turn. Kid Callum raced wide in the home straight. Kareda Gold and Especial Empire collided approaching the winning post.
Kareda Gold underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left fore paw. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. D. Jarvis, the handler of Kareda Gold and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post.
