Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Stewards questioned Handler, Ms D.Coleman regarding the number of starts that Lovely Sienna has had over the past week, today being 4 starts in 11 days. Ms Coleman stated that the greyhound is currently racing well and she has the greyhound checked regularly. Stewards noted Ms Coleman's explanation.

Manila Mist was very slow to begin - 3 lengths. Mustered Courage, Patricia Mary and Cardiff Bale collided approaching the first turn checking Patricia Mary. Chasin' Donuts, Mustered Courage, Cardiff Bale and Manila Mist collided on the first turn. Op Shop and Zipping Solo collided on the first turn checking Op Shop. Mustered Courage and Cardiff Bale collided on the home turn checking Cardiff Bale which collided with Patricia Mary, checking Patricia Mary.

Cardiff Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 5, no apparent injury could be detected.

Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. P. Smoor regarding the racing manners of greyhound, Cardiff Bale on the home turn. After viewing all available video footage, Stewards own observations and Mr Smoors submissions, no further action was taken.

Stewards questioned Trainer, Mr Jason Formosa regarding the number of starts Kareda Gold has had over the past month - 8 starts in 28 days. Mr Formosa stated that he checked his greyhounds for soundness every morning following a race start, doesn't exercise the dog in long training runs and rarely trials once the greyhound is fit for racing. Stewards noted Mr Formosa's explanation.

Pizza Shop – New declared weight of 29.4kg, last raced at 27.5kg.

Big Plans was slow to begin. Yenderra Bazza, He's A Natural, Kareda Gold and Jitterbug Witch collided approaching the first turn checking He's A Natural. Pizza Shop underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainers request and was found to have a toe laceration on the right foreleg. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Brave Hearted went up with the lids at box rise and was very slow to begin - 4 lengths. Busted, Furnace Bale and Trickster Cabang collided approaching the first turn checking Busted. Xericom Bale and Furnace Bale collided on the first turn. Montanaro and Trickster Cabang collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn. Busted galloped on the heels of Delancy Bale entering the home straight. Brave Hearted and Busted collided in the home straight. Xericom Bale raced wide approaching the winning post.

Quest Allen, Springvale Misty and Elegant Malt collided approaching the first turn checking Springvale Misty and Elegant Malt. All Inn Mia and Dundee Vulcan collided on the first turn. Silver Compass was quick to begin. Flaming Assassin and Camo Rex collided approaching the first turn. Flaming Assassin faltered on the first turn and lost ground checking Zoe's All Flaming Assassin and Zoe's All collided on the first turn checking Flaming Assassin. Rojo Ollie and Silver Compass collided approaching the home turn. Flaming Assassin raced wide entering the home straight. Rojo Ollie lost gound approaching the winning post.

Flaming Assassin underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right triangle muscle. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. 

Stewards spoke to Mr B. Klemke, the trainer of Flaming Assassin and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn.

Rojo Ollie underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the abdominal muscle. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

My Name's Wally underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the right hind foot. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.

Happy Tails - Late scratching at 6:20pm on the advice of the On-Track Veterinarian (GAR 37) due to a laceration to the right hind paw. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
