Steward's Report
Ms Lori Courts was not permitted to handle Weblec Wizz in this event and directed to leave the course as she had not undergone the required health screening.
A pre-race sample was taken from Speedy Spyro.
I'm A Krakouer, Maximum Brew and Quick Income collided soon after the start. Weblec Wizz and Speedy Spyro collided approaching the first turn. Mr. Milford checked off Quick Income approaching the first turn. Mr. Milford contacted the rail on the first turn and lost ground. Assertive and Speedy Spyro collided on the home turn. Maximum Brew marred Assertive in the home straight checking Maximum Brew, Assertive, Speedy Spyro and Quick Income.
A post-race sample was taken from I'm A Krakouer - the winner of the event.
Mr. Milford underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Maximum Brew underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr R Bewer regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Maximum Brew was charged with marring. Mr Bewer pleaded guilty to the charge, Maximum Brew is suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
