Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID-19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4-wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

The start of this event was delayed approximately two minutes due to Albion Park Harness race 6 running behind schedule.

Master Cosmic Maximum Refusal collided approaching the first turn. Bob's Brew checked off Reiko Houdini approaching the first turn. Aston Squire, Bob's Brew, Uringa, Master Cosmic and Maximum Refusal collided on the first turn checking Bob's Brew, Uringa, Master Cosmic and Maximum Refusal.  Reiko Houdini and Crackerjack Nev collided on the first turn checking Crackerjack Nev. Aston Squire brushed the rail on the first turn. Aston Squire and Maximum Refusal collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.

Done It Again was slow to begin. 

Pure Cool Titan, Hasta Manana and Weblec Fire collided soon after the start checking Pure Cool Titan and Hasta Manana. Weblec Fire checked off Graphic Print approaching the first turn. Inter Mimi and Graphic Print collided on the first turn checking Graphic Print, Okay Sam, Done It Again, Ed Deeds, Weblec Fire, Pure Cool Titan and Hasta Manana. Handler Mr Peter Bartlett was questioned after it appeared the greyhound Pure Cool Titan was going to be placed in the incorrect starting box. After considering evidence from Mr Bartlett and acting on their own observations Stewards took no action against the handler or the greyhound. 

Ms Lori Courts was not permitted to handle Weblec Wizz in this event and directed to leave the course as she had not undergone the required health screening.

I'm A Krakouer, Maximum Brew and Quick Income collided soon after the start. Weblec Wizz and Speedy Spyro collided approaching the first turn. Mr. Milford checked off Quick Income approaching the first turn. Mr. Milford contacted the rail on the first turn and lost ground. Assertive and Speedy Spyro collided on the home turn. Maximum Brew marred Assertive in the home straight checking Maximum Brew, Assertive, Speedy Spyro and Quick Income.

Mr. Milford underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right triangle muscle injury. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Maximum Brew underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr R Bewer regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Maximum Brew was charged with marring. Mr Bewer pleaded guilty to the charge, Maximum Brew is suspended for 28 days at Geelong and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Flying Yuna was quick to begin. Hard At It and Run Shifty Run were slow to begin.

New For One and Graceful Gazelle collided approaching the first turn checking Graceful Gazelle. Oriental Gracie checked off Mane Toy approaching the first turn. Run Shifty Run checked off Hard At It. Hard At It and Graceful Gazelle collided on the first turn checking Graceful Gazelle. New For One and Hard Break collided on the first turn. Mane Toy galloped on Hard Break on the first turn checking Hard Break and Mane Toy. Run Shifty Run and Hard Break collided approaching the home turn checking Hard Break. Limburg Special was quick to begin. Plain Name and Potent were slow to begin.

Limburg Patrick and Krisbar Immy collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds. Saucy Sav checked off Limburg Patrick on the first turn. Quick Finance, Episode and Trixie's Rocket collided approaching the home turn. Episode visibly eased approaching the winning post and turned its head inwards.

Episode underwent a post race veterinary examination - no apparent injury report. Stewards spoke to representative Ms K. Smith regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Episode was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms Smith pleaded guilty to the charge, Episode is suspended for 28 days at Geelong only and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
