Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Kraken Hero.
Kraken Roger, Kraken Hero, Camo Rex, Red Hot Chance and Tough Grit collided approaching the first turn checking Kraken Hero. Kraken Roger and Camo Rex collided approaching the home turn. Tough Grit eased on the home turn. Kraken Roger marred Tough Grit on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Camo Rex and Awesome Grit collided entering the home straight. Red Hot Chance and Dundee Vulcan collided in the home straight. Awesome Grit, Camo Rex, Kraken Roger and Tough Grit collided in the home straight. Dundee Vulcan and Tough Grit raced wide in the home straight.
Kraken Roger underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury reported.
Stewards spoke to Ms G. Lemin, the trainer of Kraken Roger regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Kraken Roger was charged with marring. Ms Lemin pleaded guilty to the charge, Kraken Roger is suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Tough Grit underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an injury to the right triangle muscle, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr P. Kaltsis, the trainer of Tough Grit regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Tough Grit was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr P. Kaltsis pleaded guilty to the charge, Tough Grit is suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
