A pre-race sample was taken from Rock In Rio.
Silver Charro and Aerolithology were quick to begin. Xericom Bale was slow to begin.
Silver Charro, Nitro Nana and Aerolithology collided approaching the first turn checking Aerolithology. Silver Charro, Zipping Dusty and Nitro Nana collided on the first turn causing Nitro Nana to fall and severely checking Rock In Rio. Libby The Ripper galloped on the heels of Zipping Dusty on the first turn, causing Libby The Ripper to fall checking Xericom Bale and Rock In Rio and Zipping Dusty raced wide on the home turn.
Nitro Nana underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
Libby The Ripper underwent a post-race veterinary examination was found to have a left monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards inspected the track following the event and deemed it suitable for racing.
