Steward's Report
Town Tamer was very slow to begin (3L). Foot Peg, Rita Jay and Black Booker collided soon after the start checking Foot Peg. Town Tamer, Hazy Rose, Maggie Pie and Zeal Of Approval collided on the first turn severely checking Maggie Pie and Zeal Of Approval. Rita Jay, Zeal Of Approval and Maggie Pie collided approaching the home turn checking Maggie Pie and severely checking Rita Jay which pulled up. Black Booker eased and collided with Zeal Of Approval on the home turn checking Black Booker.
Rita Jay underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left chest muscle injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Black Booker underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right wrist injury and left groin injury, a 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr. J. Caulfield, regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Black Booker was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Caulfield pleaded guilty to the charge, Black Booker must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
