Steward's Report
Miami Sound and Super Group were late scratchings at 1.46pm with permission of Stewards due to trainer Mr Vincent Mileto being unable to arrive prior to the close of kennelling following road closures en route to the track. No penalty was applied.
Chill Out Dusty and Chill Out Fordy collided soon after the start. Quick Express marred Illicit on the first turn severely checking Illicit, Galena Bale and Ducky's Delight.
Quick Express underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a spike wound to the left hind toe. No stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Sean Van Taarling, the trainer of Quick Express regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Quick Express was charged with marring. Mr Van Taarling pleaded guilty to the charge, Quick Express is suspended for 28 days at Shepparton and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Chill Out Dusty - the winner of the event.
